Summer Boredom Buster
By Latter-day Woman Team
I have four kids, and my youngest is almost 10. You would think I’d have summer routines and schedules all figured out, right?
Wrong!
Since my kids previously had year-round school, this is technically our first real summer (lasting more than 3 weeks, that is). And it’s not like I have young toddlers anymore, so I thought they could figure it out themselves. Nope. First day of summer break came and I was not prepared.
I have one child in particular that takes our “work before play” rule way too seriously. He wakes up every morning at 7 on the dot, practices piano and does his morning routine all by 8:30 a.m. Then he starts whining that he’s soooo bored! So, I decided to create a customizable chart (not just for chores) filled with things that will build his body, mind, spirit, and even his siblings!
You could use this as a pre-screen-time checklist, or just something to give them ideas if they’re bored.
