Dear Heather,

Many of us find ourselves incredibly busy in our everyday lives.  We are raising kids, juggling callings and regular responsibilities of day to day life such as making sure our kids feel loved and cared for,  housework, making sure everyone is fed and clothed, running businesses, sometimes even caring for ailing parents or grandparents, and sometimes it becomes increasingly difficult to find the stillness.  Yet without the stillness, it can also become increasingly difficult to hear that still small voice.  I don’t know about you, but that still small voice is what leads me in life, so when it starts to become inaudible, it is incredibly important to stop and figure out how to get back on track.  None of us are perfect, so don’t beat yourself up when you get off track! Just stop and reassess!

We all have seasons of life.  The seasons of life are what Heavenly Father uses to help us grow. To help us to become more like Him.  Sometimes the seasons of life are full of joy and beautiful memories.  Sometimes they are hard and lonely.  Sometimes those seasons of life are busy and overwhelming and sometimes even full of tears.  What I’ve learned in my 43 years of being here is that they are ALL for our good.  Heavenly Father wants nothing but the best for each and every one of His children!

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been in the very hard and unbearable seasons where I’ve sincerely asked, “God, what are you doing?! Why have you forsaken me?!” I’m here to tell you though, that He hasn’t!  Even when times feel so dark and full of despair, He is there.  He is carrying you.  If you will just allow yourself to lift your eyes and your voice to Him and push through it, you will eventually find out that there WILL be joy ahead when you allow him to take you by the hand and lead you in the direction He is trying to guide you.  When the joy and rainbows reappear, you will see that it was then that he carried you.  Many times, a little ways down the road you can even see how He was guiding you, when He was carrying you and suddenly those times won’t seem so terrible because you can also see how He led you to the here and now. You can also see that His plans are better than your own and you can have your own testimony that He wants nothing but the best for you!

Blessings,

Heather Shaw
