“The instant I open The Book of Mormon I feel it’s power of protection. The negative influence of the Adversary instantly disappear. He has no place in my thoughts or Spirit. I am completely embraced and protected by the Spirit of our Savior, Jesus Christ. When we read the words, in this Book, as a family, the Spirit grows stronger in our home. That protection carries each of us, individually, as we go about our day at school, at work and at home.  As I consistently spend time reading in the Book of Mormon I feel my Savior’s influence in my daily life more tangibly. Reading from The Book of Mormon, on a daily basis,  helps me be more of the woman Heavenly Father needs me to be. I know The Book of Mormon is true.”
-Haili Hunter, Utah

“I have been pondering on President Nelson’s question,  “How would my life be different if my knowledge gained from the Book of Mormon were suddenly taken away?” The most impactful knowledge I’ve gained has been the understanding that everyone receives revelation differently, and for all sorts of reasons. Each prophet interacted with God in their own unique way, and with that knowledge I’ve been able to understand my own relationship with God so much better.”

“It was my 3rd year of Girl’s Camp…I really didn’t like Girl’s Camp, but went every year regardless. We got to have a 30 minute scripture study time out in the woods far enough away from each other for complete quiet and alone time.  The only sound was wind blowing through the trees.  My thoughts were turned to Joseph Smith in the grove.  I had read the entire Book of Mormon that year and had not received my witness like Moroni had promised quite yet, so I decided to pray about it.  As soon as I started praying I had a complete understanding and knowledge overtake me like I had just remembered something.  I remembered that Joseph Smith really HAD been visited by God and Jesus and that he really HAD translated the Book of Mormon.  I remembered that everything in the Book of Mormon about the Americas was TRUE.  It was not a question of “if” at all to me anymore at that moment.  It was a complete knowledge and understanding that it was all true.  It brought me to tears and I cried with that overwhelming answer for a while.  I have a horrible memory, but I remember that experience like it was yesterday.”
-Jessica Hills, Herriman, Utah

“I’ve grown up enjoying the Book of Mormon, but I only recently fell in love with it. As a young wife and mother, consistent reading wasn’t really happening. When President Nelson invited the sisters in October 2018 to read the Book of Mormon before the end of the year, my first thought was, “Well, that’s not happening.” I decided to give it a go and my life forever changed. I was able to complete it in mid December and my soul ached for more. I’m not a perfect Book of Mormon scholar. Some days, I get in a verse or two, some days, I sneak in 30 minutes of study during naptime. I know as I strive to make time to study and immerse myself in the Book of Mormon, I am a much better mom. I’m happier and more patient. I am able to find those small moments to teach my kids about Jesus Christ more easily. My reason to read the Book of Mormon isn’t just for me, it impacts my family just as much. I am so so grateful for the Book of Mormon and that I am able to access its power anytime I want.”
-Kelsi Ropelato, Ogden, Utah

Two years ago, I decided that I wanted to know once and for all if I believed the Book of Mormon to truly be the word of God. Since then, I have not missed a single day of reading and have read it cover to cover a total of 7 times. I was once told that the Book of Mormon was the only book that could truly change a person. I know, without a doubt, that this is true. While I may not understand every single thing in its pages, I am a changed person – a better person – because of my daily time immersed in the Book of Mormon. I feel hope in aspects of my life where there was once nothing but bitterness and resentment. I can feel the love of my Savior surrounding me as I strive to know Him better. And I believe that all the promises I read will be fulfilled.” -Audra Elkington, North Carolina

“Growing up I loved hearing the stories of the Book of Mormon, but it wasn’t until I was a 9th grade seminary student that I really gained a sure testimony. I read and studied the Book of Mormon that year and when I got to Moroni 10:4-5, I put Moroni’s  promise to the test. I prayed with a sincere heart to know for myself that the Book of Mormon was true. I was filled with a confirmation from the spirit, that yes it is true! It was the first undeniable witness of the spirit that I had. From that point on, my testimony of the Book of Mormon has been strengthened. Each time I study and learn from it, I am fascinated by how the verses I learn can be applied into my life. I have received answers to questions, my mind has been enlightened. The Book of Mormon has blessed my life and the life of each member of my family immensely! There is power that comes from the Book of Mormon, a strengthening and fortifying power! One that I want in my life and in my family members lives!” -Kim Chase, Utah

“I am grateful to have the Book of Mormon in my life. I have read it cover to cover and always learn something new. I feel the Spirit whenever I read it. It has blessed my life. Whenever I study I pray to feel the Spirit, to know the desires of the Lord. I am always spiritually edified by it. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have felt it when I study it. It is a wonderful and sweet feeling of peace and love. I have taken Moroni’s challenge in Moroni 10 when I read and study from it. I am so blessed to have these scriptures in my life to answer questions and feel my Heavenly Father’s love for me.” -Kerstin Hansen, Payson, Utah

“Because of the Book of Mormon I know that God is my Heavenly Father and he, along with Heavenly Mother, has a plan. I am their daughters doing they know me by name because I am their choicest creation – along with all their children.  My elder brother Jesus Christ is the saving part of that plan. His atonement allows me to be able to work on myself while here in this fallen mortal state and gain blessings through my obedience. I know I am of infinite worth – my individual worth came with me regardless of my earthly circumstances or accomplishments. The Book of Mormon has shaped every decision I have made in my life since I first read it when I was 17. It has given me a personal relationship with my Savior and has propelled me to remember the things I learned before I came here to prove my faith and trust in God. It has give me my eternal companion and my children. The Book of Mormon is true. I know it is the word of God. I know because I have read it, studied it, prayed about it, and been taught by the third member of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit, that it is true. He testifies of the truth of all things and because of Him I know all of these things and know they are to be true.” -Marge Wheeler

“I grew up in the church. Although I knew all the stories and heard all the songs I didn’t believe nor did I care for Jesus Christ. After getting pregnant at 16 and saw that they (young women presidency) were trying to transition me to the Relief Society aka All the old women; remind you I was 16 and that’show I saw them. After being ignored and even gossiped about I stopped going to church. For 9 years I was inactive. I remember thinking if God did exist my problems and I were irrelevant. There were people dying and starving on the other side of the world, why would God care about me? I have never been more wrong in my life. One day I snapped and my soul couldn’t take it anymore. I turned to God. In a dream I saw a plate on display in my house with that blue and white china pattern. It didn’t blend with my style which is why it stood out so much. 6 months later I see that plate in the store at the Kirkland Temple gift shop. My heart thumped in a way I had never felt. After that experience I sat down and read the Book of Mormon for the first time in my life. I now own that plate and it is on display in my home as a reminder that God knows each and everyone of us. He expressed his love to us by giving us the ultimate sacrifice; his only begotten son. You and I are not ants in the corner. Our savior knows and loves each and every single one of us.” -Carolina C, Washington D.C.

My younger self didn’t understand the importance of The Book of Mormon, so naturally I didn’t care for it. During that time, because I was not spiritually feeding myself and adding to my knowledge, I was filled with lots of negative thoughts and feelings towards myself. I experienced such a dark place in my life. So dark I hurt myself physically and mentally.
One day, inspired by my Bishop and a very good friend, kneeled down in my room, and prayed for the first time in a long while. I was overwhelmed with love of the savior. That night I began to read The Book of Mormon, and was filled with knowledge every day I read. I learned of Gods love for me, I learned of the trials that the people in The Book of Mormon went though. I began to be fed spiritually and physically. The more I read, prayed and participated in church the more I grew. The Book of Mormon was given to us, to help us through these latter days. Because the lord knew what was going to happen, he knew that we would stumble in life. I have stumbled so much in life, because of the doubt I let into my life multiple times. The Book of Mormon has taught me that God is always trying to help us, even if we don’t think we need it. I am and will forever be so grateful for The Book of Mormon, because it has helped my faith grow, and it has helped me remember why we are here. Because of The Book of Mormon, I can teach other of the fullness of the gospel.
Even though, at times we may feel alone in our trials, we need to remind ourselves that the lord is always there for us, we just need to ask in faith. I thank the Lord everyday for my parents great testimonies, and for their patience with me as I work on my faith. I have a testimony, that God has prepared a way for each of us to make it back to him. I have a testimony that each prophet was working with the lord to help us. I have a testimony of The Book of Mormon, and the truth it holds.” -Jocelyn Noble

I know that the words contained in the Book of Mormon are meant for me. And you. And anyone who desires to feel the love and guidance of our Father who cares for us deeply. I firmly believe that the the truths shared within the Book of Mormon were once lost, but now are found, and we need them to more fully understand the plan laid out for us by God. Without that precious book, mortal life would be unnerving and hopeless. With it, oh, what peace I feel.” -Ellie Messler, Sioux Falls, South Dakota
