Artwork: Ponder
By Lacy Palmer
One general conference several years ago I received very clear and exact revelation that I would create a series of religious themed paintings. I was so excited to jump into this new journey only to have nothing come to my mind. Not a single idea! I could not create anything that felt right, it’s like heaven gave me this glorious revelation and then just closed the doors without any further instruction. I felt frustrated and confused why I would be told this but not helped to know exactly what I was supposed to create. Fast forward to this year, I decided to give it another try and as I sat down and opened my sketchbook, the ideas immediately flowed, I couldn’t draw fast enough to keep up with everything that came to my mind. This concept of ”Ponder” was the first attempt at painting any of those sketches I created and she went through several different versions before I settled on this one. I don’t know why the timing had to be now but I know this painting was truly inspired of God. I know God gives us each specific talents and platforms to share our testimonies in different ways other than just standing at the pulpit on fast Sundays and I am forever grateful to the Master Artist of the universe to allow me to express my love to Him in such creative ways.
