Thrift Stores

MAKE A DIFFERENCE PROJECT - Home

My first FAVORITE thing is Deseret Industries or any thrift store near you.  Hear me out… I believe that God speaks to me through thrifting.  I don’t know if the root of it is that He helps me out because I have to shop a ton, or if He truly cares about me finding treasures.  But when I need something specifically for another person, He helps me find it secondhand. God has been communicating with me through thrifting ever since I was a teenager.

Women at Church

Women at Church: Magnifying LDS Women's Local Impact: McBaine ...

My next favorite thing is a book near and dear to my heart.  Women at Church by Neylan McBaine teaches women how to speak up and be part of the leadership conversation.  It is validating and brilliant.  A must read for every Latter-day woman.

Lemon Essential Oil

I have been an oil user for a long time.  Lemon oil is part of my morning routine.  I put a couple of drops in my water throughout the day.  I use it to remove those annoying stickers on shoes from retail stores.  I clean with it.  It is very much thread throughout my everyday life.

Hip Packs

My hip pack, fanny pack, bum bag, whatever you want to call it, it is on me at all times.  Hip packs are perfect these days for a small hand sanitizer, a mask, keys, and credit cards.  Get everyone in your family one.  It will simplify your life.

Conair Hand-held Steamer

My little companion steamer!  This gal saves the day almost every day.  She heats up fast, is incredibly efficient, and is compact.  I can’t imagine my life without her.

Lip Gloss

I have 2 favorite lip glosses. Shine Cosmetics in Admired.  I actually received this in a swag bag and have fallen in love with it. Also, Buxom in Mudslide.

Hammock

I have to mention my hammock.  It truly is a therapy tool.  There is something so magical about dangling midair and relaxing.  It’s my reading spot, mediation spot, reconnecting spot, and calming down spot.  It provides a tiny refuge from the constant never-ending pace of the world.  Every woman should treat themselves to a hammock.  It is well worth the money.

Positive Affirmations

I know this isn’t a product but a practice.  It will change your life, your view, and it will change how you feel about yourself. Positive affirmations are powerful and every woman deserves to try and learn positive behavior that will strengthen your divine identity and character. Here’s my favorite one to say daily, “I am grateful for my hands, that I can serve, love, and lead with them.” This practice connects my soul, mind, and body and allows me to be intentional every single day. I highly recommend trying it.
